Why do I need to prepare for my interview?

Well, the answer is obvious. Even for the most word-savvy, qualified person- interview skills are specific, and they are learned. Remember, there are no second chances to make an impression.

How do you deal with anxiety:

An interview is simply an exchange of information between two interested parties. It is a conversation to test if you- the employee and the employer and compatible. This is not a life or death situation, and worst case scenario- you walk out to find another company that reflects both values accurately. Companies put a lot of effort and money into attracting the best possible talent. It is what they live and die by. So our ultimate advice is to be you and to be confident. You can do so by internalizing affirmations to motivate yourself.

How do I score a goal on my interview? (3 tips)

Our unique interview tips listed below will convince the employer that there is only one of you, and leave your mark in their mind.

  1. Research, Research, Research: It need not be said that when applying for the job do your independent, out-of-textbook research. This means exploring beyond the company homepage. You need to understand the employer’s missions/visions, the people they represent, and their most significant events. Not every applicant goes into detail, that's how you set yourself apart.
  1. Come prepared with questions for your employer: An interview is a situation where the employer is asking you questions to determine whether you are the right candidate. But don't forget, you are trying to figure out if the job is right for you as well. Asking questions also signals to the employer that you have gone out of your way to research. If you have no questions, it could signal that you are apathetic to the position and do not have an intrinsic interest in the position- or are doing it just for monetary benefit.
The ideal question: You could ask “what opportunities for advancement or additional roles am I going to have at this company?”

The great thing about this question is that it tells the employer that you are flexible and willing to learn new things. This quality is ideal for an employee.
  1. Your personal pitch as an answer to the “tell me about yourself” question:  A personal pitch is a summarization of your accolades, and experiences in a short response. It is used to justify your qualifications when proving to the company that YOU are what they are looking for.
